What is the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs?

• A city-sponsored initiative dedicated to expanding public experience with the visual arts;

A program established by municipal ordinance in 1973 that specifi es that one percent of Seattle’s capital improvement funds be set aside of the commission, purchase and installation of artworks;

• A program whose mission is to integrate artworks and the ideas of artists into a variety of public settings, and to engage artists in the civic dialogue.
