What is Mexican Heritage Corporation?

• An organization that exists to affirm, celebrate and preserve Latino and Mexican cultural heritage by promoting the arts, building community, and advancing social and economic development;

• A cultural center whose goal is:

- to capture the spirit of the Mexican-American community;

- to create a “gateway” to East San Jose and enhance the Alum Rock business district;

- to establish a landmark gathering place;

- to provide a center for learning about history and culture;

- to create an arts workshop environment that invites artists, students, and audiences to actively participate in the visual, performing, and literary arts;

- to complement the neighboring schools by providing educational opportunities.
