MASS MoCa website

What is MASS MoCA?

• A 20th century museum with modern technology, tucked seamlessly into a 19th century mill complex;

• Preservation of a 27-building historic mill complex;

• A catalyst for economic growth in North Adams,
in the Berkshire mountains of Western Massachusetts;

• A place that provides space, tools, and time for artists, cultural institutions and businesses working in sculpture, theater, dance, film, digital media and music to create new work, sometimes in partnership with high technology and new media companies;

• A series of historic buildings where past is layered on present, and present on future, integrating texture and space to create an esthetic of its own.
