 What is Artspace?
- A community-based arts organization developing affordable housing, transforming neighborhoods and building communities;
- A non-profi t using the arts and culture as a community and economic development tool;
- A neighborhood based non-profi t adapting and reusing buildings for a mix of uses;
- A community development corporation (CDC) with ownership of 92 affordable live/work spaces, including retail, office, gallery and community space for 12 other non-profi t organizations focused on social and environmental justice;
- A regional leader promoting excellence in urban design, preservation and brownfi eld redevelopment;
- An advocacy organization promoting creativity, discovery and exploration for at-risk youth;
- An arts organization promoting artists as city-builders.
