This forum included presentations on four outstanding art-based projects and an interactive discussion about measuring the impacts of art-based placemaking. Projects and presenters included Laura Esparza the Executive Director of the Mexican Heritage Corporation, Stephen A. Goldsmith of ArtSpace2, Salt Lake City, Barbara Goldstein, Public Art Director of the Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, Seattle and Cynthia Harnisch, Director, Inner-City Arts, Los Angeles. Presenters focused their remarks on project goals and how they changed; salient successes of the project; most significant mistakes, community impacts, and other related topics. Ms. Maria-Rosario Jackson also addressed her recent work at the Urban Institute on developing cultural indicators and measuring impacts of art-based places.
